How to control the arm brace:
There are two buttons located on the controller. One is located at the top and the other is located at the front. Pressing the button at the top will cause the motor to extend and thus the arm will contract. Pressing the button in the front will cause the motor to retract and the arm will extend. It is seen in the videos below:

Using the Arduino was one of the decisions we made late. The Arduino is a mightily powerful cheap electronic micro controller that has applications in all electronics. It is not very difficult to learn and so we learned how to use it from a YouTube channel, Jeremy Blum. He provides a very easy and well directed series that teaches using the arduino:
